Wild Island is now taking applications - kitchen and juice bar positions. We have a tight crew that has fun, works hard and is proud to serve our community. We offer counter service with soups, salads and specials from the kitchen as well as our juice/smoothie/espresso bar. It’s a high energy place but we strive to keep our cool, communicate and treat each other with respect. We love to work with like minded folks who appreciate healthy food.

Current hours are 9-2 Tuesday through Friday.

Employees report to: Wendy Thomas, chef/co-owner of Wild Island
Classification: part time, full time, possibly year round
Location: 18 Urner Street, Eastsound, Washington (Orcas Island)
Pay range: $15- DOE/hour, tips depending on hourly, and length of commitment. Employees also receive a free shift meal as well as food discounts off hours.

Whole Foods cook/kitchen manager- Hiring and TAKING APPLICATIONS! full time.

You have the following qualities/skills:

  • Prefer 2 years experience in a busy kitchen. Possibly willing to train the right person.

  • Experience managing inventory and ordering

  • Creative. Have a few recipes in your notebook. Baking a plus.

  • Ability to lift and carry 25-40 lbs from ground to sinks, tables or shelving.

  • Can be on your feet up to 8 hours a day

  • Good knife skills

  • Quick on the line but thoughtful, communicative. Ability to prioritize tasks

  • You have good hustle attitude, can think on your feet, and like staying busy

  • Flexible and willing to multi-task

  • Committed, hard-working, detail oriented team player.

Juice Barista/cashier- positions filled at this time but always taking applications~

Job Description: This position is primarily working the juice bar and register.  Ideally we are hiring those who can crossover a little between FOH + BOH when needed. The role entails making smoothies, juices, hot drinks, prepping, running food to tables, customer service, cleaning. This is a great opportunity to get commercial kitchen experience, and work with a fun team of people committed to serving organic, healthy food and drink. We have schedules but also hope that in the height of the season people will stay till it gets done (within reason of course!)

You have the following qualities/skills:

  • Ability to lift and carry 25-40 lbs from ground to sinks, tables or shelving.

  • Can be on your feet up to 8+ hours a day

  • Basic math skills and ability to learn quickly

  • Ability to anticipate customer needs and prioritize tasks

  • You got a good hustle attitude, can think on your feet, and like staying busy

  • commitment to customer service and like engaging with people of all temperaments

  • Flexible and willing to multi-task

  • Committed, hard-working, detail oriented team player

  • Creative, enthusiastic

  • Prepping soups, salad ingredients, dressings, making prepared salads for cold case. Please note we use a lot of cashews and almonds in the kitchen.

  • General kitchen prep, dishes when needed and flexibility to pop out to the juice bar
